Files Encrypted by CryptoFortress - How to Remove

Computer encounter a cryptolocker variants - CryptoFortress?


Recently a new CryptoFortress ransomware has been released to attack numbers of computers.once it gets itself invaded into your computer.here below is warning note:

"Your important files(including those on the network disks, USB,etc):photos,videos, documents etc. Were encrypted with cryptolocker virus. The only way to get your files back is buy our decryption software. Otherwise, your files will be lost."



How malicious it is! however, buying the so-called decryption software will surely lead to files decryption? I am afraid not, according to the users' report, paying for the ransomware won't surely get the files back but just lost your money. If you did want to try about about, we suggest to call the local bank service in case you lose your money for nothing.

It is not suggested to live with this CryptoFortress for it is supported by Trojan horse and it may invite other computer threats to come into your computer.If you don't know how to remove it effectively, you are welcome to check below:


Step by step guide to manually remove CryptoFortress


1.Restart your computer, before you enter into the desktop, keep pressing F8 to enter into the safe mode. Besides, if you can choose safe mode with networking, then choose it.


Get into the C drive to check if there are unfamiliar files (random words organized) on the root catalogue

2.Show all hidden files
Search for folder options and then click “view tab”, tick show hidden files and folders and uncheck hide protected operating system files----press ok



3.Get into the c:\\windows folder and organize the files in the date order and then check the bottom files, if it is created at the day your computer got infected and the files name appeared as the random words, then delete it.

4.Get into system32 to check if there are files created at the day you got infected and appeared as the random words, then delete it.

5.Click start---run---type regedit to open the registry editor and check if there are extra startup items, then delete it.
