How to Delete PragmaModulator - Remove PragmaModulator.dll

Help! PragmaModulator won't delete. I use Windows 7 and browse on Google Chrome.
Anyway, there's this program called PragmaModulator.

It's a 1.56 MB (1,640,448 bytes) file.
Its file name is PragmaModulator.dll

So, how do I permanently get this thing off my computer? I tried using Task Manager to quit the process, but I don't see anything remotely resembling the file name.

Information of PragmaModulator


PragmaModulator is not a virus or a Trojan. It is detected as a "potentially unwanted program" (PUP). PUPs are any piece of software that a reasonably security- or privacy-minded computer user may want to be informed of and, in some cases, remove. PUPs are often made by a legitimate corporate entity for some beneficial purpose, but they alter the security state of the computer on which they are installed, or the privacy posture of the user of the system, such that most users will want to be aware of them.

This PragmaModulator program may have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized administrator has knowingly installed this application. If you agreed to a license agreement for this or another bundled application, you may have legal obligations with regard to removing this software, or to using the host application without this software. PragmaModulator.dll software is Win32:PUP-gen related.It may have one or more of unwanted features: spying user, advertising, search redirecting, or browser hijacking. The infection may compromise your computer or lead you to hacked site which can steal your personal information or drop down malicious programs. It is suggested to remove PragmaModulator from the computer as soon as possible to avoid further damage.

Guide to remove PragmaModulator 


Method 1: Manual removal


Step 1: Stop related running processes in Windows Task Manager first.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or Press the Start button->click on the Run option->Type in taskmgr and press OK.

 

Step 2: Remove any infection related program from Control Panel.

Windows Vista and Windows 7

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click Control Panel and click Uninstall a program.
3. Remove the related programs.


Windows XP

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click Control Panel and then click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Uninstall related programs.


Windows 8

1. Press Win+R.
2. Type in control panel and click OK.
3. Select Uninstall a program.
4. Remove the related programs.



Step 3: Remove PragmaModulator extension or add-ons from your browsers.

Google Chrome



Mozilla Firefox




Step 4: Show all hidden files and clean all the malicious files.

(1).Click the Start button and choose Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, to find Folder Options then double-click on it.
(2).In the pop-up dialog box, click the View tab and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).

 

Step 5: Go to the Registry Editor, remove all PragmaModulator registry entries listed here:



HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MpCmdRun.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MpUXSrv.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MSASCui.exe


Method  2:  Remove with SpyHunter



Step 1: Click the following button to download SpyHunter.

 

Step 2: Save it into your computer and click on the Run choice to install it step by step.

Step 3: Scan the computer and delete all threats.

Note: Manual removal refers to key parts of computer system. If you don’t have sufficient expertise in dealing with the manual removal. Install Spyhunter can be your better choice.
