I downloaded a FreePicture Resizer from CNET and got this lousy pop up infestation. There are three or four pop ups at a time and they take up at least a third of the screen. I found a program on my computer called "Digital More" and uninstalled it but that did nothing. What should I do?

Digital More is an ad-supported browser extension which can be classified as adware. This adware can slip into the computer along with suspicious downloads from the Internet, such as software update, multimedia players, download tool, or utilities to speed up the Internet. When you install the applications and don't pay attention to the installation process, you may have this adware program installed on the computer by default. Once gets into the computer, Digital More will compromise your browser and modify browser setting. It will attach on the browser as a browser helper object.


When you surf the Internet, Digital More is capable to generate a lot of pop-up ads to show on the webpage you are visiting, including search-related ads, banner and video ads, in-text ads and links, transitional, interstitial and full page ads. The tricky ads by Digital More may redirect you to hacked site which can steal your personal information or drop down malicious programs. Digital More may connect to the Internet to request data and download files. This adware will also track your browsing habits and steal your personal information.It is suggested to remove Digital More from the computer as soon as possible to avoid further damage. Method 1: Manual removal

Step 1: Stop related running processes in Windows Task Manager first.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or Press the Start button->click on the Run option->Type in taskmgr and press OK.

 

Step 2: Remove any infection related program from Control Panel.

1. Open the Start menu.

Step 4: Show all hidden files and clean all the malicious files.

(1).Click the Start button and choose Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, to find Folder Options then double-click on it.
(2).In the pop-up dialog box, click the View tab and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).

 

Step 5: Go to the Registry Editor, remove all  Digital More registry entries listed here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MpCmdRun.exe

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MpUXSrv.exe

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\MSASCui.exe
