How Can I Stop Ads by Discount Smasher - Remove DiscountSmasher Ads

Discount smasher is one of those viruses that bombards me with ads making browsing the internet almost impossible and stops me from having or downloading extensions in chrome. i have had ones like this a few times before and they were always easy to remove. i cant find this one though. i have tried searching through all files for discountsmasher. Please help. Thank you.
