Permanently Remove Trojans.DNSChanger.acm Virus

I have stupidly ended up infecting my computer with Trojans.DNSChanger.acm and I am getting only one noticeable error. The screen flashes and any folders like documents or video folders for example are automatically closed down. I can appreciate this may not sound serious by itself but I am concerned it may allow back door entry into my PC along with other things.
